No snow day for me :-(
So we had to come into work today at 10am. All the military bases are closed, but not the City, we have to keep going. This is particularly frustrating when I have no work to do!!! Remind me not to work for local government ever again.

I love the snow....
...because we were allowed to leave work at 1.00pm. I don't love the snow because it stopped me running. Well that's not strictly true, I just wussed out. Also I got some Yaktrax for Xmas so I really have no excuse for not running in the snow!!

Sheesh, that hurt....
I went running at lunch and decided to do my longer route (circa 6 miles) as another snowstorm is forecast tomorrow. Every step was painful. My legs felt like dead weights. My feet went numb. Several times I thought about turning around and cutting my run short. But I persevered and now feel terrible. The cold showers at work didn't make me feel any better either (the boiler is broken and its going to take 8 weeks to fix!!).
Back at work today :-(
Well my sister's flight was delayed and we eventually got home at midnight. But from what I heard of other peoples travel misfortunes they were pretty lucky! We had a very nice christmas, although both my sis & her hubby have been full of cold. I'm hoping I dont' get it. Popping Vit C every 2 hours. Managed to get in a couple of good runs in Ute Valley park. A bit icy in parts but on the whole pretty good running. Also did a couple of hikes. So I'm hoping I've managed to counteract some of the excess of food & drink!!

Holiday wishes...
I'm about to head out of the office for the holidays. I'm going to pick up my sister and brother-in-law from CS airport in about an hour. I am sooooo excited to see them again. They are flying in from New Zealand via LA for 2 weeks. I hope their flight isn't delayed. The airport website says its on time. So as I have visitors I probably won't be posting much until I am back at work next Wednesday.
So in the meantime MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all!!
So in the meantime MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all!!
Good to be out there again....
I went for a good long run at lunchtime, after a 2 day break due to inclement weather. I need to start timing myself but I'm never sure exactly how far I've run. It was beautiful sunny Colorado winter day at 37f. Amazingly the trail was virtually free of snow. You'd never think we just had the storm from hell (well it was the worse storm I'd ever experienced!). When we had a big snow fall a few weeks ago the trail was hard packed with snow for a week. Guess it was a different type of snow this time.
Happy Cockmas!
